Henrik's All-Star Story In NY Daily News

Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist — who boasts a 1.85 goals against average and a .939 save percentage — earns his third All-Star selection Thursday

The Rangers have several players worthy of All-Star consideration this season, so the NHL settled for a Big Three.
Henrik LundqvistMarian Gaborik and Dan Girardi were named All-Stars Thursday afternoon and will represent the Blueshirts on Jan. 29 in Ottawa, along with coach John Tortorella.
Girardi receives his first career All-Star nomination in his fifth full NHL season. He leads the league in time-on-ice per game (27:18) on a team that gives up just two goals a night, which is tied for second-lowest in the NHL with St. Louis, just behind Boston (1.92).

Girardi has 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 40 games entering Thursday night's game against the Senators at the Garden.
Lundqvist and Gaborik both receive their third All-Star nominations.
Lundqvist is playing some of the best hockey of his career (1.85 goals against average, .939 save percentage) and has emerged as a leading contender for the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goaltender — an award he's been a finalist for three times prior. Only the Blues' Brian Elliot has better numbers as a regular starter (1.62 GAA, .940 save percentage).
Gaborik was an All-Star twice before with the Minnesota Wild, but this is his first selection as a Ranger. He has scored more goals after 40 games (23) than he did in 62 games last season (22).
"If I could be picked, it's because a lot of guys have been part of it — part of the success we are having, and part of mine as well," Gaborik said Wednesday, prior to the selections.

Ottawa has the most players named to the All-Star Game (four) since four of the six players voted in by fans were Senators, followed by the Rangers, Canucks, Bruins and Maple Leafs with three apiece.
