Henrik Lundqvist was superb between the pipes for the Rangers, winning the marquee goaltending duel with Tim Thomas. Lundqvist earned his league-best seventh shutout of the season with his sixth all-time blanking of the Bruins, finishing with 42 saves. He was at his best in the second period when he stopped all 14 Boston shots in what was then a 2-0 game, including those which came in bunches during a few wild scrambles in his crease.
